Off to See the Wizard

Off to See the Wizard was conceived as a family oriented show for the ABC network. Animation was used as “wraparounds” for what was primarily a live action show as the intent was to use MGM family films from its huge library. Each week, the animated versions of characters from The Wizard of Oz would introduce the current offering. Daws Butler, June Foray and Don Messick handled the vocal work. Chuck Jones served as Executive Producer, Abe Levitow as Producer/Director, Don Morgan as Production Designer and the rest of the crew was filled out by Jones regulars.
